When enabled, your calculator will be rendered incapable of using or creating any programs\/apps whatsoever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ti84calcwiz.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/520902_32db7fc0cafe4ff5a683eb965adc5f64_mv2.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1158\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of this Test Mode\u00a0is to limit the use of unauthorized calculator programs during high stakes examinations. The only problem with this mode is that most teachers and testing centers do not remove you from test mode after the examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is unfortunate for people who wish to write programs on their calculator or people who are simply annoyed by the bright blue banner at the top of the screen. What&#8217;s more, is the fact that <strong>Test Mode drains your battery.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But don&#8217;t worry, exiting Test Mode is an easy task to accomplish. Let&#8217;s get started!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What You Need<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>A TI-84 Plus Calculator\u00a0stuck in Test Mode<\/li><li>A Calculator Charging Cable<\/li><li>TI Connect CE Software Installed (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/education.ti.com\/en\/products\/computer-software\/ti-connect-ce-sw\" target=\"_blank\">Download Here<\/a>)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Step-by-Step Guide<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don&#8217;t already have TI Connect CE installed, be sure to download and install it! Download link is in the &#8220;What You Need&#8221; section above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open up TI Connect CE. Plug your calculator into your computer using the charging cable. Make sure your calculator is turned on!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ti84calcwiz.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/520902_11a367c10e804bab91f415b697493b61_mv2.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1159\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To escape Test Mode, your calculator needs to receive a file from another device (in this case, it will be your computer). Since most students don&#8217;t have access to computers during tests, this is a clever way to prevent students from exiting Test Mode when they aren&#8217;t supposed to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on the &#8220;Program Editor&#8221; tab on the side bar (the last icon). Click &#8220;New Program&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ti84calcwiz.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/520902_b4103e12b8b145b18adc531ea3223888_mv2.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1160\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Send this blank file to your calculator. You can do this by clicking &#8220;Actions&#8221; (in the top bar), and clicking &#8220;Send to Calculators&#8230;&#8221; (or by pressing Ctrl+E). A window should pop up.
